Sims Metal have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced MaintenanceFitter to join our Vicmaintenance team, based in Broadmeadows.
Reporting to the Operations Engineer, you'll play a key role in carrying out preventativemaintenance, servicing, and day to day repairs on our fixed and mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform preventative and breakdownmaintenanceon fixed plant equipment, including hammermill shredder, conveyor systems, balers, and metal sorters
* Work to a daily maintenanceplan and complete all relevant documentation
* Respond to and assist with equipment breakdowns
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
* Follow all safety, environmental, and quality protocols
About You
* Trade qualified Fitter & Turner or Machinist preferably with experience in conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and gearboxes
* Basic arc welding and oxy cutting would be anadvantage
* Hold a current driver's license
* Restricted electrical license is anadvantage
* Preferably hands‐on experience in a similar industrial or metal processing environment
* Strong diagnostic and repair skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
