The role:
We're looking for a motivated and reliable Batcher / Plant Operator to join the team at Adbri Concrete's busy Darwin (Winnellie) operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to step into the concrete industry or build on existing construction or operational experience. You don't need previous batching experience – we're open to training the right person who is eager to learn, has a strong work ethic and enjoys working in a fast‐paced team environment!
This role offers real variety where no two days are the same – combining concrete batching, customer service, scheduling, loader operation and plant coordination.
Whether you come from construction, civil, manufacturing or building materials, this role offers the chance to develop valuable industry skills in a hands‐on operational role with long‐term career potential.
Working as part of a small team, your day‐to‐day duties will include:
* Taking customer phone and email orders
* Scheduling and allocating concrete deliveries
* Operating the concrete batching system
* Coordinating drivers and ensuring deliveries are on time
* Loader operation to feed raw materials into the plant
* Monitoring and ordering raw material stock
* Completing plant pre‐starts and daily housekeeping
* Processing delivery dockets and end‐of‐day administration
* Assisting with monthly stocktakesMaintaining a safe, organised and compliant site
Hours: Monday – Friday (rostered shifts are between the hours of 5am – 5pm) and you may be required to participate in alternate Saturdays.
What we're looking for:
We're open to training the right person - attitude matters more than experience. To be successful, you'll have:
* Experience in concrete, construction, civil, transport or building materials
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Good organisational and problem‐solving ability
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced operational environment
* Basic computer skills and confidence using systems
* Strong safety focus and willingness to follow procedures
* Reliable work ethic and eagerness to learn
* Loader experience is highly regarded, but not essential - full training can be provided.
