IntroductionCentacare North Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation that provides counselling, family support, mediation, family dispute resolution, disability services, education and courses, crisis housing and homelessness support, youth services, community engagement and NDIS services.
Centacare services the North Queensland community from offices in Townsville, Ayr, Bowen, Mt Isa, Cloncurry and Normanton.The successful candidate for this role will be securing a rarely available position.
You will be part of a local organisation who gives back to the community and as a leader you will be responsible for a range of programs and the teams who deliver these programs.
This role is based in Mount Isa.Benefits You Will EnjoyOptional benefits could attract a total remuneration package of up to $160,000 pa.Salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 plus $2,650 entertainment allowance with Eziway Salary Packaging5 Weeks Annual Leave pa + 17.5% leave loading - that is one week extra1 day Birthday LeaveInvestment in professional development and trainingWellbeing support including Medibank discounts and access to a new Wellbeing app called SonderCCNQ pay for your Queensland Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening CardRelocation assistance by negotiation.DescriptionJoining a values driven, supportive and inclusive organisation, you will:Provide consistent, high-level advice to the Executive Director on the operations, programs and planning of programs that operate in remote areas.Managing the continuous improvement and development of service delivery in line with community, funding body and Stakeholder needs and expectations.Implementing a range of effective staff development practices.Monitoring all aspects of their program portfolio's performance.Provide strategic and operational leadership, direction and support to management and staff within the remit of the role.Work as part of the Senior Leadership team to ensure services are compliant, high performing and responsive to community need.Ensure financial, legal and human resource responsibilities are implemented and achieved.Maintain and model Centacare NQ's organisational culture and values.Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership team and the Executive Director to implement Centacare NQ's strategic plan activities and objectives across the whole of the organisation.Provide leadership, direction and advice in the development of services, programs, operational and financial plans.Report regularly to the Executive Manager on operational, services, programs, staffing and budgetary matters.Evaluate the progress and effectiveness of services, programs, operational and financial plans.Manage fund contracts including liaising with and reporting verbally and in writing to the program funder as delegated.Review and advise on key funding arrangements and service agreements to the Executive Director.Report on activity plans/KPIs and budgets as agreed by funders.Manage expenditures consistent with allocated budget, the requirements of funding organisations, regulatory requirements and internal practices.Supervise management and line reports within the portfolio to manage staffing, service delivery performance and overall operations in line with funding body and organisational requirements.Review program capital and equipment needs.Please ensure you read the position description and meet the criteria outlined within.Skills and ExperiencesTo be successful you will have:Minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related Social Sciences field with post graduate studies underway or willingness to complete.Minimum Five (5) years demonstrated leadership experience in the areas of service/ program delivery within a not-for-profit environment, financial management, change and general management at a senior level.Current open driver licenceDemonstrated capacity to manage multi-disciplined teams and complex service portfoliosHigh level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective partnerships both internally and externally.Current, or eligibility to obtain, both a Working with Children Blue Card check and Disability Worker Screening.Centacare North Queensland is a Child Safe and Equal Opportunities Employer.
