About The Opportunity
Bowral & District Hospital is seeking an experienced Sterilisation Technician to join their team as a maternity leave relief position (until 15 March 2026). The role involves:
* Providing clean, sterile, or disinfected items and/or equipment to stakeholders within Bowral & District Hospital
* Preparing daily operations and managing sterile stock rotation and control in the operating suite sterile stock room
* Reprocessing flexible endoscopes in a dedicated scope reprocessing room within perioperative services
Qualifications and Skills
* A Certificate 3 in Sterilisation Services
* Ability to participate in a rotating roster, including all shifts, days, and public holidays
* Understanding of WHS and infection control principles in a CSSD environment
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Attention to detail to ensure quality standards

Role Purpose
The Grade 2 Sterilisation Technician provides operational support for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices, adhering to AS/NZS4187:2014 standards, working independently and supporting Grade 1 technicians.
Work Location
Bowral & District Hospital, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, offers a blend of rural charm and amenities. It is part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, with strong links to tertiary facilities at Campbelltown and Liverpool. The hospital has undergone significant redevelopment, including a new Clinical Services Building, and is committed to safe, high-quality patient care.

* Certificate II or III in Health Service Assistance (Sterilisation Services) or equivalent, with experience in a hospital CSSD, knowledge of AS 5369:2023, infection prevention, and WHS requirements
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing complex medical device processing
* Effective workload prioritization and communication skills
* High standard of written and verbal communication skills
