About the role:
Peabody are currently seeking Underground Mechanical Fitters (Development) to join our Centurion underground mine; Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit (*****************.au)
Reporting to the Mine Manager
The scope of your new role will be include.
* Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs on underground mobile equipment.
* Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure safe, reliable operation.
* Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role.
* Work closely with the shift supervisor and other trades to ensure minimal downtime.
* Work to "Best Practice" techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard.
* Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
* Participate in site continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:
* Trade qualifications
* Minimum of 3 years in underground coal mining
* Ability to work effectively in a team, coupled with strong communication skills
* Operation of underground equipment as required.
* A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role.
* Commitment to high performance standards.
In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
