We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Antarctic Refueller to join our team. As an Antarctic Refueller, you will play a critical role in the execution of refuelling operations in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Refuelling Supervisor in delivering briefings, equipment set up, relief supervision of the refuelling operation, and equipment pack up. You will also work closely with other voyage support staff, members of the shipboard and station-base Mechanical Team.
Job Description
* Assist the Refuelling Supervisor in the execution of refuelling operations in Antarctica and the sub-Antarctic
* Deliver briefings and ensure safe and efficient transfer of fuel
* Conduct equipment set up and relief supervision of the refuelling operation
* Pack up equipment after completion of refuelling operations
* Work closely with other voyage support staff and members of the shipboard and station-base Mechanical Team
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in bulk fuel transfer
* Recent experience (within the last 5 years) in refuelling operations
* Capability of safe bulk fuel transfer using soft wall hose in cold climate, exposed marine situations such as those found in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean
* Comprehensive knowledge of bulk fuel transfer and equipment (hose, pumps, etc.) standards and industry accepted practices with regard to ship to shore bulk fuel transfer
* Strong, proactive focus on safety and knowledge of safe methods of bulk fuel transfer
* Familiarity with Antarctic and Sub Antarctic resupply operations or similar ship to shore operations in cold climate conditions
Benefits
* An annual base salary starting from $89,311 per annum when in Australia
* A generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 15.4% will be paid in addition to salary and allowances
* You will accrue recreation leave at the equivalent of 20 days per annum pro rata

* Be rostered to perform duties to support the community life of the expedition
