An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Nurse to join the dynamic Neurology multidisciplinary team, providing specialist care for patients living with Parkinson's disease.

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time

Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2

Remuneration: $58.83 – $60.76 per hour

What you'll be doing

You will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the assessment, management, and ongoing care of patients with Parkinson's disease. Working closely with medical, nursing, and allied health teams, you will support best‐practice care delivery, contribute to service development, and enhance the skills and knowledge of staff through education, supervision, and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

* Providing specialist nursing knowledge and advice related to the clinical care of patients with Parkinson's disease.
* Delivering clinical supervision, guidance, and support to registered nurses and enrolled nurses caring for patients with Parkinson's disease.
* Providing inpatient consultation for admitted patients with complex Parkinson's disease, supporting clinical teams in optimising symptom management, medication timing, mobility, and discharge planning.
* Co‐ordinating the weekly Parkinson's MDT outpatient service, including initiation and management of complex Parkinson's therapies where appropriate.
* Participating in local and district‐led clinical trials and undertaking regular auditing of services to support research, evaluation, and quality improvement.
* Participating in organisational working groups and committees related to Parkinson's disease and movement disorders.
* Assisting Neurology medical and nursing leaders to advance clinical practice standards and contribute to the development of advanced nursing practice frameworks.
* Promoting quality improvement activities and evidence‐based practice to support optimal patient outcomes.
* Contributing to Neurology‐led projects aimed at evaluating care models, improving service delivery, and enhancing patient outcomes.
* Providing education and disseminating information to staff regarding Parkinson's disease, including updates on clinical best practice and emerging evidence.
* Delivering timely assessment, care coordination, and education for patients, families, and carers, including the development of patient‐centred educational resources.
* Undertaking comprehensive analysis of existing clinical practices and supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service improvements.
* Contributing to strategic planning and service development to optimise care delivery for individuals living with Parkinson's disease.
* Acting as a key liaison between inpatient wards, neurology teams, and outpatient services, ensuring continuity of care and supporting safe transitions across the patient journey.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post‐registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post‐graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and clinical outcomes for patients with Parkinson's disease.
* Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
