The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this is a full‐time role for a Principal Control Systems Technician to join the Perth Services team.

We're seeking a principal technician who wants to develop their customer‐facing skills and improve the skills of an automation team through hands‐on leadership, formal training and technical support provided by our in‐house engineering team. This role will combine travel to site to support our clients, assistance with programming, configuring equipment, commissioning, and specialist inputs to design and team leadership.

Responsibilities for the role

* Working with all brands of automation systems.
* Being an escalation point for system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to the control system operation.
* Programming and configuring control systems to meet specific project requirements and ensure optimal plant performance.
* Providing technical support to customers, either onsite or remotely, including training on control system operation and maintenance.
* Uplift training and mentor other Control System Technicians in the team.
* Ensuring the team adhere to safety regulations and protocols while working on control system installations and maintenance tasks.
* Manage relationships with customers so we become trusted partners.
* Ensure that excellent service delivery is met and achieved within budget & time constraints.
* Practicing a high degree of safety awareness, to ensure safety requirements are met onsite.

Qualifications / Experience

* A Grade Electrical Licence (Electrical Mechanic)
* +10 years post trade control system experience in industrial or manufacturing sectors
* Experience with onsite maintenance/commissioning
* Strong IT skills. A good understanding of windows applications and IP networking such as Devicenet, Controlnet and Profi Bus
* Experience with PLC systems such as Rockwell Allen‐Bradley, Siemens SIMATIC, Schneider Modicon, Mitsubishi MELSEC, Omron, ABB, GE, Yokogawa, WAGO, Phoenix Contact, Delta, or similar platforms
* Experience with SCADA platforms such as Rockwell, WinCC, Citect, Ignition, iFix, Wonderware, Honeywell, ABB, GE CIMPLICITY, Omron, Yokogawa, Emerson, Mitsubishi Electric, etc
* Demonstrated experience in control and PLC/SCADA system fault finding and programming
* Experience in instrumentation fault finding and commissioning
