About the Role
Working closely with senior leaders the In‑House Counsel role is part of a collaborative and experienced legal team. It will provide commercial and legal advice on a range of legal matters in a fast‑paced and highly collaborative environment. Specific work includes:
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client, supplier, and service agreements.
* Monitor regulatory developments, and deliver clear and concise advice to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory requirements.
* Provide general legal advice on key business areas such as intellectual property, data protection, privacy, employment and management of litigation.
About You
* Qualified legal practitioner in Australia with 4‑8 years of experience within an in‑house team.
* Proven ability to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice and independently manage legal matters.
* Strong understanding of relevant regulations, particularly ASIC and APRA frameworks.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage internal client relationships and external service providers, including the ability to convey legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
* Excellent writing, time management skills, with high attention to detail and strong commercial acumen.
* Self‑motivated and able to work both as part of a team and autonomously.
* Willingness to take on diverse legal challenges.
