We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic water team and lead the mechanical discipline on water projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to guide and develop a team while delivering innovative design solutions for water infrastructure projects.
Job Description
This is a senior-level position that involves leading the mechanical discipline on water and wastewater treatment projects from concept design to detailed design. The successful candidate will have opportunities to apply their mechanical engineering skills across other industries such as energy, industrial and large-scale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the mechanical discipline on water and wastewater treatment projects
* Guide and develop a team of engineers
* Deliver innovative design solutions for water infrastructure projects
* Contribute to Arup's strategic growth in the water market
* Manage significant projects ensuring timely delivery within budget and with high technical quality
* Negotiate with clients and suppliers to ensure favorable terms to deliver project outcomes
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* A relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
* Extensive experience in mechanical engineering design for water and wastewater infrastructure
* Strong leadership skills with experience in guiding and developing teams in a consulting environment
* In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations codes and industry practices with a focus on water projects
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
