UQ Library Job Opening
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with high-end equipment and culturally significant materials in a leadership role shaping the future of digital preservation for heritage collections.
The successful candidate will combine technical skills with strategic planning to drive innovation and make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide effective leadership to a dynamic team, motivating staff to reach exceeding goals, creating and maintaining schedules, standards, workflows, assessing collections, and liaising with clients.
* Coordinate service delivery by assessing collections, specifying methods, equipment, creating and monitoring project schedules and deadlines.
* Ensure digitisation standards, workflow procedures are consistently followed by staff, providing expert technical and organisational guidance.
* Engage with staff across the library, including collection management and technology specialists, ensuring effective communication and contributing to cross-library projects.
Duties involve moving large items, pushing loaded trolleys, repetitive tasks, lifting, reaching, squatting, long periods of standing, and walking.
We seek an experienced leader with a proven ability to set and maintain standards, motivate staff, monitor and manage performance, and provide regular feedback.
Requirements:
* High emotional intelligence and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Qualifications and subsequent experience in photographic imaging, analogue film, digital asset management desired.
* Proven experience working with heritage collections, applied knowledge of international heritage digitisation standards, workflows, technology, copyright, privacy, cultural access protocols highly desirable.
