The Role
We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Structural Engineer (minimum 5 years' experience) to join our growing team.
You'll work across a diverse portfolio — from commercial and industrial buildings to bespoke verification's and temporary works — supported by an experienced group of engineers and drafters who value communication, accountability and excellence.
In this role you will:
* Deliver high-quality, technically rigorous structural designs in steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
* Manage projects from concept to certification with a high degree of autonomy.
* Apply engineering judgment and innovative problem-solving to complex structural challenges.
* Liaise directly with architects, builders and clients to develop practical, efficient solutions.
* Undertake site inspections, review documentation and mentor junior engineers.
* Maintain FortisEM's high standards for design integrity and quality assurance.

About You
You're a technically driven engineer who takes pride in producing precise, efficient and buildable designs. You enjoy accountability, thrive in a collaborative team and are motivated by professional growth and tangible results.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years' Australian experience in structural design and documentation.
* Proven expertise with AS1170, AS3600, AS4100, AS1720 and AS2870.
* Strong skills in software such as SpaceGass, Structural Toolkit, SLB and CheckWind (or equivalent).
* Excellent communication, documentation and problem-solving ability.
Bonus (but not essential):
* RPEQ registration (or actively working towards it — full support provided).
* Experience mentoring others or leading small project teams.
* Exposure to temporary works, industrial, or modular structures.
