Job Description
About the role:
We are looking for a Fixed Plant Electrician to join the team on site working on an 8/6 - 7/7 roster FIFO from Perth. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections across Focus Minerals’ processing fixed plant. The role ensures the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment—including motors, switchboards, MCCs, VSDs, instrumentation, control systems, communications, and electrical components associated with crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, thickeners, and the gold room.
Key Responsibilities Include
Carry out electrical maintenance, repairs, inspections, and fault-finding on fixed plant equipment to support high equipment availability and reliable processing performance. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective electrical maintenance tasks as scheduled, providing accurate feedback to planners and supervisors. Ensure all electrical work complies with statutory requirements, the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022, Australian Standards, and site electrical procedures. Conduct isolations, testing, verification, and other electrical safety requirements to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel. Identify equipment defects, escalating issues and improvement opportunities to support asset integrity and reduce unplanned downtime. Maintain accurate records in the maintenance management system, including work order notes, inspections, and parts usage. Collaborate with Operations, Mechanical Maintenance, and other trades to coordinate safe and efficient work execution. Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas to enhance maintenance quality, safety performance, and work management processes. Uphold a strong electrical safety culture and act in accordance with Focus Minerals’ policies, procedures, and values.
Qualifications
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Trade qualification in Electrical discipline. 5+ years in fixed plant or process plant maintenance. High Voltage Switching Ticket. Demonstrated experience managing maintenance for crushing, milling, and gold processing circuits. Proven track record in improving plant reliability and maintenance performance. Experience in shutdown execution. Proficiency in CMMS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
