Join our Subsea team

The Lead Subsea Controls Engineer will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and governance to activities related to the Baker Hughes Control System install base within the Services APAC Region.

Play an important role in delivering outcomes for customers

This is a client-facing position. You'll work directly with customer teams on existing and new install bases. The role requires proactive collaboration across all business functions and managing scopes across geographically diverse teams.

As a Lead Subsea Controls Engineer, your responsibilities include:

1. Developing and executing scopes aligned with customer and project requirements and priorities.
2. Defining Cost, Time, and Resource (CTR) requirements for engineering planning and forecasting.
3. Driving engineering and team activities to ensure on-time delivery.
4. Increasing regional ownership and accountability over APACI project execution, fostering autonomy and regional capacity.
5. Collaborating during design reviews, working with controlled titles at all project stages, contributing to risk assessments, and driving mitigation activities.
6. Assessing manpower needs for offshore installations, including skill gap analysis, providing planning support, reviewing procedures, and leading offshore teams during commissioning and start-up.
7. Ensuring deliverables meet customer specifications, regional technical regulations, and standards for Australia.
8. Reviewing and approving product clarifications, procedures, and technical reports.
9. Providing technical support and leadership during business and non-business hours, including rota-based 24/7 on-call support.

Work Experience

To succeed, you should have:

* A degree in Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering, Industrial Computer Systems Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
* Over 10 years of engineering experience in the subsea industry or related services.
* Expertise in SCADA systems, PLC operations, instrumentation design and operation.
* Experience with subsea control systems, including software development and communication protocols.
* Knowledge of operational requirements for DCS, MCS, PCDMs, SCMs, SEMs, HPUs, XTs, and umbilicals.
* Experience with EPC project control system design, testing, commissioning, and offshore startup activities.
