Clinical Nurse Consultant (Coronial Nurse)

* Provide clinical nursing expertise to Forensic Pathology to obtain and interpret a wide variety of medical evidence to assist the Forensic Pathologists.
* Support the objectives and priorities of the Coroner's Court of Queensland by liaising with external practitioners and organisations to facilitate appropriate management of reportable deaths.
* Develop a contemporary understanding of community expectations regarding coronial deaths, and provide consultancy, clinical leadership and advocacy to support the needs of bereaved families.
* Actively identify areas for service improvement and innovation and develop work instructions and policies using evidence-based practice that facilitate optimal client outcomes.
* Be accountable for own work standards and professional development, and participate in learning, research, and workplace development, including orientation and preceptorship of new staff.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
* Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* While not mandatory a post graduate nursing qualification would be well regarded.
* Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience.
* Demonstrated use of advanced verbal and written communication skills to convey relevant, concise, objective and accurate information to colleagues and stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to summarise, analyse and interpret clinical and medical information.
* Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries in relation to coronial information.
* Ability to problem solve, prioritise tasks and work in a high-volume environment both autonomously and as a team member.
