About the Opportunity We have an exciting part time opportunity for a passionate individual to join our recycling team. This position is based at Kurrajong Recycling and will operate for 20 hours per week, we’re eager to discuss preferred working days and hours with the successful candidate to ensure a great fit for both sides. The Recycling Education Officer will develop and implement educational and promotional programs for residents, schools and community groups relating to recycling. We’ll help develop your recycling know-how, but to thrive in this role, you’ll need to bring strong people skills and be comfortable and confident engaging with others, building relationships, and representing Kurrajong in the community. Reporting to the Recycling Manager, key responsibilities will include: Contribute fresh ideas to communication efforts that help increase public awareness and promote recycling right Collaborate with identified Councils and stakeholders on the implementation and execution of education programs and activities related to waste recycling Help develop informative content such as brochures, posters, videos, social media posts, recycling activities, and merchandise that makes recycling easy to understand Promote Kurrajong Recycling’s products and services by leading site tours and attending fairs, expos, and other community events as required Although not essential to apply, applicants with relevant working experience or qualifications in areas such as communications, marketing, education or sustainability will be highly regarded.
