About you:
We're looking for someone who can apply their advanced skills, knowledge, experience and emotional intelligence in high-level negotiations, coordination, consultation, protected area management and human resources management — to supervise multiple teams seeking to strike a balance between protection and conservation of our parks and forests—while facilitating visitor access, recreation and ecotourism. You will need to thrive in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work. Effective leadership skills and the ability to implement innovative solutions are essential, as is the capacity to communicate effectively with a broad range of senior program and operational staff, stakeholders and external clients.
About the role:
The Principal Ranger (Estate & Visitor Management) is part of the South East Qld Region's Technical Support team — a group of innovative, multi-disciplinary, protected area management experts and knowledge brokers—which propel the Region forward through planning, strategy and support. The unit leads key programs, including providing a 'bridge' between statewide funded programs and on ground operations. The Principal Ranger will help drive consistency across the Region's Estate and Visitor programs—including how we prioritise effort, utilise systems & frameworks and uphold our legislation & policy.
