THE ROLE
We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer for ongoing project work. Working out of our Bibra Lake Facility you will form an integral part of the Engineering and Project Team, assisting in the delivery of ongoing project works to our Tier One Clients.
Responsibilities
* Work within engineering team on projects and studies. Provide support to pre-contracts department.
* Complete engineering design deliverables as directed by the Engineering Lead andor Project/Design Manager.
* Develop and manage project E&IC (electrical, instrumentation and controls) deliverables in accordance with the project scope, specifications, quality client procedures and standards, in conjunction with the team.
* Complete engineering design utilising specialist software with required level of expertise (e.g. AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, ETAP, DiGsilent etc) and ensure that they meet Aerison and/or client specifications and engineering standards.
* Provide technical interface management with external contractors/vendors, internal teams (engineering, fabrication & construction) and client to meet project needs.
* Address design engineering issues within team, raise and resolve technical queries / deviation with client.
* Seek and deploy value engineering opportunities to increase project profitability and value for clients.
* Manage priorities and work across projects portfolio.
* Understand and deliver on project scope, specifications, drawings. Identify and address concerns and/or opportunities around design, delivery and budget.
* Manage contractor/ vendors delivery including cost, schedule, materials, design engineering, testing, QA / FAT and documentation aligned to project requirements.
* Ensure all works are commenced and completed with a clear intent that will provide an optimal outcome for the project (i.e safety, budget, schedule, and performance).
* Manage to visit client site / office from time to time.
* Develop datasheet, specifications and RFQ / RFP for and manage procurement process and timely delivery of materials, packages and documentation.
* Ensure project design engineering deliverables, lessons learnt record and MDR close‑out.
* Ensure all documentation is consistent with the business quality standards.
* Ensure all practicable steps are taken to ensure works are conducted in a legal and ethical manner, and are consistent with business standards, policies and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, legislative and commercial requirements.
WHO YOU ARE
* Bachelor of Science Electrical, Instrumentation or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
* 5 to 10 years' experience in electrical & instrumentation design engineering in a project's portfolio delivery environment. Client‑facing experience in mining and energy sector is highly regarded.
* Up to 5 years exposure in package and project engineering experience desirable.
* Sound knowledge of discipline specific Australian and International standards.
* Excellent technical and leadership skills to drive project deliveries in a methodical way.
* Highly self‑driven with well‑developed people‑management, communication, organisational, HSE and project risk management skills.
* Design engineering testing of electrical switchrooms experience desirable.
* Hands‑on experience on design engineering tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory.
* Hands‑on experience on design engineering, testing of LV/MV/HV Boards, UPS & Battery Systems, LV AC/ DC and Lighting distribution boards, SEL Protection Relays, MCC and VSD. Eaton xEnergy system, Schneider, Danfoss VSD experience desirable.
* Sound understanding and knowledge of design engineering, testing of PLC controls SCADA, Safety System, Fire & Gas / VESDA System, communication networks (MODBUS, TCP/IP), HVAC and field instrumentation. Allen Bradly ControlLogix, Guard Logix PLC. Honeywell SM Safety Manager experience desirable.
