Senior Underwriter – Commercial Property

The opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Senior Underwriter – Commercial Property with strong Industrial Special Risks (ISR) capability to help us deliver sustainable profit and growth. You'll underwrite ISR Property business in line with the business plan, underwriting guidelines and service standards, while managing both new business and a renewal portfolio. You'll also play a key role in building and maintaining broker relationships, applying technical expertise, and coaching and mentoring Underwriters to uplift team performance.

Your new role
In this role, you'll apply technical expertise to safeguard and grow the portfolio, contribute to business results, and mentor Underwriters to uplift team capability. You will also:
* Underwrite ISR Property business in line with underwriting guidelines and authority.
* Manage a portfolio of new business and renewals to achieve sustainable growth.
* Build and maintain strong broker relationships through proactive engagement.
* Collaborate across teams and product lines to maximize client relationships.
* Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and underwriting standards.
About you
* Senior Underwriter with proven experience in ISR Property underwriting.
* Established broker/customer relationships and strong stakeholder management skills.
* Relevant tertiary or specialist qualifications (or equivalent experience).
* Commercial background advantageous, with flexibility to work across a changing portfolio.
* Broad understanding of Property underwriting and proven knowledge of market conditions for your class/portfolio.
* Excellent verbal and written communication, high attention to detail, and a customer/broker focus.
* A keen interest in data analytics with the mindset to apply insights in underwriting and portfolio management.
* Able to collaborate within a national team across multiple locations.
