About the Opportunity
Canex Resources is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Australian business within the timber and hardware sector.
Due to an internal move, we are seeking a Business Operations & Sales Manager to lead a Trade Timber and Hardware operation in Townsville.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take full ownership of the branch, driving sales performance, leading your team, and ensuring the operation runs efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading, coaching and developing a large, multidisciplinary team
* Driving sales growth across trade, builder and retail customers
* Building strong relationships with local builders, tradies and suppliers
* Overseeing day-to-day operations, stock management and branch performance
* Managing financial outcomes including budgets, margins and cost control
* Implementing strategies to grow the business and exceed targets
* Creating and maintaining a strong safety-first, high-performance culture
What We're Looking For
* Proven leadership experience within timber and hardware, or a related industry
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving sales and profitability
* Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong understanding of operations, inventory and business performance
* Commitment to safety, compliance and workplace culture
* Experience in supplier engagement or negotiations (highly regarded)
Ideal Background
* Experience within building, timber or trade sectors
* Previous experience as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager (3+ years)
* Strong customer focus and solution-driven mindset
