About The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Demi Chef to join our talented team of chefs on a full-time basis. You will assist in the effective operation of the Kitchen by working closely with other Kitchen staff to provide quality service to members and guests.

As a Demi Chef, you will report directly to the Executive Chef and be supported by senior members of the kitchen brigade. Our resort offers buffet breakfast in our Arcuri Restaurant, bar service for lunch and dinner, poolside service, in-room dining, and a popular pizzeria overlooking the infinity pool.


Key Responsibilities

* Deliver high-quality products consistently;
* Maintain equipment, utensils, and a clean and hygienic kitchen at all times;
* Manage stock rotation, ensuring minimal wastage and maintaining optimal inventory levels;
* Update your knowledge and skills in procedures and techniques, and gain a broad understanding of all sections of the Kitchen; and
* Follow directions from senior chefs and work collaboratively as a team player.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays will be highly regarded for this role. A typical shift pattern is 1:30pm - 9:30pm.


What You'll Need To Succeed

* Commercial Cookery qualification recognised in Australia (essential)
* Previous experience as a Demi Chef in a 4-5 star hotel or resort (highly regarded)
* Demonstrated expertise in cookery and developed knife skills;
* Solid knowledge of kitchen sections, service styles, mise en place procedures, food items, cookery techniques, sauces, cold larder, vegetables, and butchery;
* The ability to thrive in a large, busy, and fast-paced work environment;
* The capacity to comfortably lift 20kgs and perform repetitive manual tasks safely;
* Full working rights in Australia.
