About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Mechanical Engineer in HVAC Systems, to join our Maritime team based in Adelaide or Melbourne.
You will be responsible for leading a team of delivery engineers, providing integration support, strong technical oversight and leadership while managing scope, scheduling, and maturity of systems within your remit. Your focus will be on ensuring the successful delivery of multiple system designs through effective planning, coordination, and team management.
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and manage an Australian based HVAC team and deliver engineering outputs.
* Apply a depth of specialist design knowledge in mechanical aspects of all Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems in order to resolve complex specialist design problems and issues.
* Understand business processes and the business environment and organise and co-ordinate engineering activity, ensuring defined objectives are achieved whilst maintaining quality and cost.
* Will assist with the development of HVAC systems, providing design input to the subcontractor and assurance that the architecture and detailed design are fit for purpose, ensuring technical viability and safe operation of all HVAC systems.
* Lead a design team and assist in the development of SQEP within the discipline, with particular focus on HVAC system expertise.
About YOU
* Strong experience in HVAC or building services within moderate to complex project environments
* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
* Balanced expertise in technical leadership and project management
* Experience in Defence highly desirable
* Proven ability to lead diverse engineering teams
* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* A qualification in Project Management advantageous
* Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
* Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
