The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced, values-led manager to lead and manage our Counselling, Casework, and Education and Training functions (currently 5 people), while maintaining responsibility for a small caseload.
In this senior role you will help shape and deliver services that engage and support vulnerable young people through outreach, structured activities, and individual support, fostering personal development, resilience, and social inclusion.
You'll be working across both our Springwood & Katoomba sites, in addition to outreach in the local communities.
A minimum of 3-5 years management experience is essential for this senior role.
What you'll do day to day
• Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team delivering counselling, casework, and education/training services.
• Oversee intake processes and ensure enquiries and referrals are responded to promptly and appropriately.
• Provide clinical supervision and support quality practice, including case note standards and audits.
• A minimum of 3 years clinical supervision experience is required for this position.
• Maintain a small client caseload (0.2 FTE) and provide high-quality counselling
• Develop and improve programs in consultation with young people and the community, reporting on outcomes and key metrics.
• Build collaborative relationships with service providers, community groups and stakeholders across the Blue Mountains.
• Support compliance, risk management, and child-safe practice across services and activities.
• Play a key role within the Senior Leadership team, reporting to the CEO
What you'll bring/Essential Requirements
• A relevant degree and higher education degree in Psychology or Counselling (for instance Masters, Graduate Diploma).
• AHPRA Registration as Psychologist/Full registration with Counselling Governing Bodies (Current)
• Demonstrated leadership and people management capability, ideally within youth services and/or community sector settings.
• Experience delivering and overseeing case management and/or counselling services, including documentation and reporting requirements.
• Experience in facilitating clinical supervision
• Trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice and an ability to work effectively with diverse communities (including LGBTQI+, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and CALD young people).
• Strong program development, stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Sound time management and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting funding and compliance obligations.
Other essential requirements
• Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Current driver's licence and ability to travel across multiple sites.
• Commitment to child safety, confidentiality, and workplace health and safety.
