About the Department
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing leads national policy and programs that support the health, wellbeing and independence of Australians.
Working across health, aged care and disability reform, the Department partners with governments, providers and communities to deliver accessible, person-centred services and strengthen Australia's care systems for the future.
Key Duties
* Work in a small team to develop and implement communication plans and strategies for the International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) program.
* Work effectively as part of a team to deliver results and effectively manage personal workloads with minimal supervision.
* Coordinate the procurement and management of communication contracts and liaise with external suppliers to ensure successful outcomes.
* Contribute to the management of successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders including policy areas, media team, members of the public, people with disability, disability ambassadors, and disability organisations.
* Develop communication material for various audiences, which may include social media posts and graphics, website content, newsletter articles, event information kits, videos and accessible communication materials.
* Monitor and report on the implementation of strategic communication initiatives including monthly social media reporting.
* Provide support to Communication Account Managers as required.
Experience:
* The labour hire contractor must have experience in a public affairs or communication role, or possess relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, communication, marketing or related fields.
Location and hours:
* The labour hire contractor will be required to attend one of the following offices:
o Canberra office [Yaradhang Building, Canberra ACT 2601, Australia]
o Melbourne office [595 Collins St, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia]
o Brisbane office [80 Ann St, Brisbane City, Queensland 4000, Australia]
* The labour hire contractor may, on an occasional basis, work from their private residence, subject to prior agreement with the Entity.
