Our client is a market leading food retail business with strong ambitions for growth fuelled through network expansion and retail optimisation over the next 10 years. They are seeking a dynamic, experienced Retail Executive to join their Executive Leadership Team and drive profitable growth for the company.
As the COO, you will be responsible for the sales and operational performance of the group, as well as implementing the business strategy through field operations, facilities, IT, and marketing. You will work collaboratively with all functions in the organization to achieve growth, revenue, profitability, and people objectives. You will also play a pivotal role as a key driver of national retail business, identifying ways to improve total brand and business performance across the group.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support the development of the retail business strategy as a member of the ELT
- Develop the annual operations plan, S&OP budget, and restaurant-level Capital budget plan to achieve growth, revenue, profitability, and people objectives
- Execute the strategy through operations, facilities, IT, and marketing, and work collaboratively with all functions in the organization
- Partner with the Chief People Officer (CPO) to develop and implement people-focused plans to drive culture/performance and achieve commercial KPIs
- Motivate, develop, coach, and manage the field network to achieve individual goals and business objectives
- Manage large teams to success and provide leadership and direction to achieve strategic and commercial goals
**Requirements**:
- Strong alignment with the people and values focused culture; high energy, curious, natural coaching style
- Diverse functional leadership experience within retail
- Proven experience in managing large retail teams to success
- Strong strategic and commercial acumen with experience in shaping business strategy to deliver profitable growth
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field
