About the Role

This is a senior leadership role suited to an experienced planning professional operating at Associate Director level or a Senior Associate ready to step up. Working closely with the Planning Directors and executive team, you will take ownership of major projects, lead teams, drive quality assurance and actively contribute to business development and market positioning.


Key Responsibilities

* Independently manage and deliver large-scale Development Applications and Planning Proposals, including SSD and design competition projects
* Provide high-level strategic planning advice, identifying project risks and opportunities from inception through approval
* Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, clients and key stakeholders
* Lead, mentor and manage technical staff and project teams within the NSW office
* Contribute to and implement operational procedures, systems and quality assurance practices
* Monitor planning and regulatory changes and report on technical developments at senior management level
* Secure new business opportunities and grow existing client relationships
* Represent the business through industry involvement, presentations, seminars and thought leadership
* Independently attend and lead client, council, panel and stakeholder meetings
* Monitor and achieve billable and team budget targets
* Oversee QA compliance across planning outputs and provide feedback to Directors


About You

* Degree-qualified in Town Planning, Urban Planning or related discipline
* Extensive experience delivering complex planning projects within NSW
* Demonstrated capability managing SSD, large-scale or high-profile developments
* Proven leadership experience mentoring staff and managing teams
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in business development and client growth
* Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder engagement skills
* Eligible for, or currently holding, REAP accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
