About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Paediatric Physiotherapist - Grade 2 to join our dynamic and supportive Allied Health Team. Together with our neighbouring service at Bass Coast Health, Wonthaggi, we are offering a position to be shared across the two sites, and there is up to 0.8EFT available.
The position offers a breadth of opportunity which may include outpatients, group therapy, home visits and services to kinders and schools; together with education activities for both consumers and staff at Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS).
This role will involve a caseload of paediatric clients only, which includes assessment and support of neonates through to 5-year-olds predominantly working in the community setting across both hospitals. Experience or interest in these areas will be highly regarded - notably APA Paediatric level 1 training. Funding may be available to support successful applicant with ongoing training needs.
As a Paediatric Physiotherapist at GSHS you will be responsible for:
- Providing treatment to outpatients and community-based clients as required.
- Providing high quality, responsive assessment and interventions appropriate to the role.
- Evaluating Physiotherapy assessments and interventions to ensure that clients’ needs are met.
- Liaising with other disciplines and agencies to develop appropriate and effective treatment for clients.
- Development of technical skills through working with other disciplines to enhance the role of Physiotherapy.
- Where appropriate, providing clinical supervision, mentoring, education & training to Grade 1 and students.
About You
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- A Bachelor or Masters in Physiotherapy or other approved qualification.
- Full general registration with AHPRA.
- Clinical experience to enable a complete general Physiotherapy service.
- Knowledge of Physiotherapy Code of Ethics.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Current Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Self-motivated and flexible with the capacity to be understanding, display empathy and problem solve effectively.
