Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (MPHN) is a community-focused, not-for-profit organisation funded by the Commonwealth Government to deliver the Primary Health Network program across a vast and diverse region in NSW. Serving 246,000+ people across 508 communities, MPHN strengthens the primary care system, reduces health inequities, and drives integrated, data-informed solutions—across priority areas including mental health, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, population health, workforce, digital health, aged care, and alcohol and other drugs.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO is accountable for enterprise strategy, governance excellence, financial sustainability, and system collaboration that improves population health outcomes. This role will lead MPHN’s strategic plan, performance against PHN contractual KPIs, and the organisation’s reputation and influence across local, state, and national arenas.
You will set direction, steward risk, optimise resources, and build high-impact partnerships, while being a trusted public spokesperson and advocate for the organisation, its purpose, and the communities we serve.
About You
You are an accomplished executive who delivers results in complex, multi-stakeholder systems. You combine strategic clarity with disciplined execution and bring credibility with Boards, funders, and system partners.
Leadership
Leading transformation strategy design and delivery.
Governance and Risk Discipline
High-quality advice to Boards; compliance across statutory, contractual, and funding frameworks.
Financial Stewardship
Budgeting, forecasting, and long-term sustainability; balancing innovation and risk.
System Partnership
Influencing government, providers, and community stakeholders; building alliances that deliver measurable outcomes.
People and Culture
Inspiring senior leaders; developing capability; sustaining a values-driven, high-performance culture.
Experience in health, public sector, or not-for-profit environments is highly desirable, along with strong executive presence and public advocacy capability.
What you will be responsible for:
Strategic Leadership & Direction
Set and execute MPHN’s strategy in alignment with PHN objectives and regional priorities; translate strategy into actionable annual plans with defined outcomes.
Governance, Risk & Board Engagement
Provide insightful advice and reporting to the Board; ensure robust quality, risk, and assurance frameworks; uphold all legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
Financial Management & Sustainability
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation; maintain financial viability while enabling innovation, growth, and strategic investment.
Stakeholder Engagement & Public Representation
Build high-trust relationships across government, funders, providers, and community; represent MPHN through media, public speaking, and strategic forums; convene Clinical Councils and Community Advisory structures to inform decision-making.
Performance, Innovation & Growth
Deliver against PHN KPIs and performance frameworks; drive continuous improvement and digital transformation; develop partnerships and business opportunities that amplify impact.
People, Culture & Safety
Lead the Executive team; ensure workforce capability, succession, and performance; sustain a safe, inclusive, values-led workplace.
