Strategic Planning Opportunity
This role plays a vital part in shaping Hobart's future growth, while maintaining respect for its natural and cultural heritage values.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking research and contributing to strategic land use planning reviews, aligned with contemporary capital city growth trends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough research to inform strategic land use planning reviews.
* Support project management approaches for significant city-shaping projects.
* Prepare submissions on draft legislation, statutory instruments, and regional land use strategies.
* Provide expert advice to stakeholders on planning scheme amendment processes.
* Develop reports and recommendations for decision-makers, grounded in evidence-based analysis.
Required Qualifications:
A degree in Planning or a related field is essential, along with experience in strategic land use planning and policy review. Strong knowledge of planning schemes, legislation, and policy frameworks is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation and report writing, are also crucial. The ability to manage projects and meet deadlines is necessary.
In addition, a current driver's license and Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People are required.
