**Your Opportunity**
The Southern Shoalhaven Youth Services provides early intervention for young people aged 12-18 years old and their families living in the Illawarra Southern Shoalhaven region. This service works with the local schools to help support young people in the community to remain and be supported at school.
The Youth Workers are responsible for providing advice, assistance and support to young people to access local specialist services.
**Your key responsibilities will be to**:
- Work with young people on the program focusing on the key elements: Strengths and needs assessment, case planning, service coordination, case monitoring and review, exit planning and case closure.
- Provide Holiday programs Outreach and Drop in sessions for clients to help them feel supported in the community.
- Facilitate and participate in case conferences with other relevant services.
- Participate in developing services that assist the local community to support young people
- Work with Mission Australia and Family & Community Services to ensure the program guidelines are adhered to
- Complete administration tasks accurately as per MA policies and procedures
- Adhere to Work Health and Safety compliance requirements
**Requirements for Success**
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications and/ or significant experience in working with youth in the community
- Experience in Case Management and Youth Work
- Demonstrated sound interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of issues facing vulnerable families and their children
- Senior First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- Current NSW Drivers Licence
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
