What To Expect
Tesla is seeking an experienced and dynamic Field Service Technician to join one of the most progressive companies in the world. We are looking for skilled service technicians with excellent communication skills to work within the Energy Products team. Tesla requires a versatile, highly mobile technician ready to move quickly to keep our systems operational.
The primary responsibilities include servicing, troubleshooting, and upgrading stationary battery equipment and Tesla charging infrastructure as needed. Candidates should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude. This role involves significant travel focused on maintaining our stationary battery network.
What You'll Do
1. Troubleshoot and repair equipment as specified by the service engineering team.
2. Travel extensively across multiple locations.
3. Perform complex electro-mechanical diagnostics, rework, and repairs.
4. Handle tasks requiring high skill and patience.
5. Operate various hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, including DMMs and oscilloscopes.
6. Develop and adhere to best practices and procedures for maintenance of Tesla Energy equipment.
7. Maintain effective communication within the Tesla Energy service organization, including daily updates on work completed, issues, and upcoming plans.
8. Provide support outside your region or country as needed.
9. Perform additional duties related to our growth and diversity initiatives.
10. Work across Powerwall and Supercharger sites to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
What You'll Bring
1. Certified Electrician (Electrical License Level 4) with current Electrical Workers Board Registration.
2. At least 3 years of electrical experience in the Commercial, Industrial, or Utility sectors (experience with Solar/Wind is preferred).
3. Up-to-date Electrical Registration/Licence.
4. Clear Police Check.
5. Ability to interpret complex documentation and instructions.
6. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based programs.
7. Good communication skills and ability to work in a mobile office setting.
8. Ability to read electrical diagrams and mechanical drawings.
9. Reliable, initiative-driven, committed, and quality-focused.
10. Willingness to work outdoors, on the road, and during unusual hours.
11. Ability to lift up to 20-25kg.
12. Valid driver’s license.
13. Knowledge of operation and maintenance of various tools and test equipment.
14. Ability to follow instructions and establish cooperative relationships.
15. Effective multitasking and organizational skills.
16. Maintain professional integrity and appearance.
