Staff Specialist - Mental Health - OPMHS

The Staff Specialist will be a valued member of the Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS), providing support to Wangaratta as needed to deliver clinical services to the Albury team and the Wangaratta community. Responsibilities include supervising, supporting, and directing the multidisciplinary Community Team, ensuring effective continuity of care, and promoting best practices in admission, discharge, and case management. The role involves participating in clinical teaching, providing supervision to fellows, registrars, and Junior Medical Officers, and teaching medical students from the University of Melbourne and other disciplines as negotiated.
Mandatory Requirements:
1. Registered or eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
2. Knowledge and experience in providing direct clinical care for adults and youth in community and inpatient mental health services.
3. Experience in clinical supervision for health professionals.
4. Understanding of contemporary mental health service provision in Australia.
5. Understanding and ability to apply the Mental Health Act 2022.
6. Accredited in Victoria to perform ECT or willing to achieve accreditation.
7. Willingness to participate in a shared weekend and on-call roster.
