Newstime Media, publisher of Canberra Weekly magazine and, is looking for a creative and motivated Lifestyle & Real Estate Content Creator to join our editorial team.
This role is perfect for someone with a bright personality who loves discovering and sharing the best of Canberra: from restaurants, home design and fashion to property and local events.
The role
You'll be responsible for creating a mix of lifestyle and real estate-focused content across print, digital and social platforms (@CanberraDaily). You will be interviewing people across the community, curating home, fashion and What's On content and staying on top of Canberra's latest foodie news. There will be plenty of opportunities to attend events, dine at local venues and immerse yourself in the city's vibrant lifestyle scene. You'll need to be confident in pitching your own story ideas and identifying strong angles in key lifestyle and real estate areas.
Key responsibilities
* Write and produce lifestyle, food & wine, fashion, home and real estate stories.
* Create and curate What's On content for print and online.
* Capture photos and short-form video content for digital and social platforms.
* Attend and cover local launches, restaurant openings, exhibitions and other events.
* Build positive relationships
About you
* Strong writing and storytelling skills with a knack for finding engaging angles.
* Confident taking photos for the magazine and website and filming short videos for social media.
* Organised, proactive and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines.
* Friendly, curious and willing to meet people and try new things.
* Interest or experience in lifestyle, food, fashion, home or property writing.
* Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications or a related field are advantageous but not essential.
* A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle are required.
