Wood is currently recruiting for an Engineering Manager with extensive experience in a Greenfields EPC / EPCM environments to be based in our Melbourne office for delivery of a Major Front End Engineering Design Project.
You will need to have a proven capability of successfully delivering large projects, coordinating large multidisciplinary teams and providing technical assurance in delivery.
Candidates with pipelines, offshore platform and downstream oil and gas experience would be advantageous.
1. Assist in delivery of technical assurance
2. Assist in Management performance of direct reports
3. Assist in ensuring competence of engineering team
4. Manages succession planning and delivery on behalf of the contract
5. Assist in setting & maintaining standards for the development and retention of motivated and competent people
6. Assist in the management of recruitment, selection, transfers and promotion of resources to meet Engineering team requirements
7. Continuous promotion of corporate / client specific procedures
8. Assist in incident investigations as required
9. Represent Wood disciplines
10. Assist in setting performance expectations for direct reports
11. Actively maintain own competence and continuous development
12. Assist in Identifying & Requesting functional support to the project/contract as required
13. Roll out & Implementation of learning opportunities from across the business
14. Conduit for regulatory framework, legislation changes, initiatives and industry technology developments
15. Supporting and supervising tasks delegated to respective team
16. Executing assigned business objectives
17. Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities
18. Manage and direct resources efficiently and effectively
19. Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a degree qualification in relevant subject
20. Chartered Engineer or equivalent with recognized professional body
21. Experience working across all engineering phases from concept to execute
22. Demonstrable balance of industrial and management experience at relevant level and position
23. Capable of representing Wood and Client to business associates in a professional manner

26. Able to demonstrate team building skills and capable of influencing people at all levels of the organisation
