We are seeking an experienced PASTRY CHEF to join our dynamic team. A full-time role for Chillis Group. As pastry chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional culinary experiences for our customers.
What you'll be doing
* Menu Development & Creativity: Creating new recipes and designing, testing, and updating menus to include cakes, pastries, desserts, gelato and breads.
* Production & Preparation: Overseeing the preparation, baking, and cooking of items using both traditional and modern techniques.
* Quality Control & Decoration: Inspecting finished products for taste, texture, and visual appeal.
* Inventory & Cost Management: Ordering supplies, managing ingredient stocks, selecting suppliers, and reducing food waste.
* Kitchen Management & Safety: Ensuring compliance with sanitation protocols (hygiene/safety), maintaining equipment, and supervising pastry staff.
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role within a high-volume, fast-paced hospitality environment
* Formal culinary training and a passion for creating innovative, visually appealing pastries and bread work
* Excellent time management, problem-solving and multitasking abilities
* Thoroughly understanding of food safety, hygiene and cost control principles
* Enthusiasm for keeping up with industry trends and a commitment to continuous learning with our tam
