Logistics Finance Manager

The Logistics Finance Manager is the Finance lead for the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Leadership Team, accountable for financial stewardship and performance of a logistics portfolio exceeding USD $100M in combined variable logistics and fixed distribution costs. This role drives financial and operational insight to enable the S&OP function to deliver on cost, working-capital and service targets — specifically Cost per tonne, Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO) and Supply Chain Losses (SLOB).

Key Position Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To
Financial planning, reporting and control:
* Own month-end close for logistics cost centers, ensuring accurate/timely postings, reconciliations, and clear variance commentary.
* Lead forecasting, long-range planning, annual budgeting, and standard costing for logistics/distribution/transportation costs, and deliver decision-ready S&OP reports/dashboards highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities vs. budget/forecast.
Variance, Costing And Analysis
* Deliver detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast/standard) across raw spend and cost standards, identifying root causes and actionable mitigations.
* Embed PVM (price/volume/mix) and cost-to-serve analytics into regular reporting—leveraging transportation lane/warehouse activity analyses and linking key operational metrics (e.g., CFR, forecast accuracy, drop size, pallets/hour) to financial outcomes to prioritize cost-and-service improvements.
Operational Partnering And Stakeholder Influence
* Partner with S&OP and operational stakeholders as the finance lead, providing data-driven recommendations to balance cost, service, and inventory tradeoffs.
* Translate financial targets into operational KPIs, initiatives, and clear accountabilities (with operations and direct report), while delivering timely guidance for tactical (routing, safety stock, clearance pricing) and strategic decisions (network design, contract renegotiation).
Inventory And SLOB (Supply Chain Loss) Management
* Own DIO & SLOB target delivery: Set financial targets, monitor performance vs. plan, lead countermeasures, and oversee monthly ZBB reporting for Supply Chain Losses with clear driver/savings transparency.
* Drive inventory reduction & loss mitigation: Lead cross-functional initiatives (e.g., safety stock optimization, demand/fulfillment changes, disposition/clearance strategies) and own month-end provisions for supply chain losses/obsolescence, ensuring strong controls and documentation.
Initiative Delivery And Continuous Improvement
* Assess, prioritize, and drive delivery of cost, working capital, and service initiatives—maintaining business cases, benefits tracking, and realization reporting.
* Strengthen forecast accuracy, costing robustness, and financial discipline by implementing process/systems/control improvements, while coaching direct reports to enhance analytics, commercial partnering, and execution.
Governance, Risk And Compliance
* Ensure financial processes and controls within logistics comply with corporate policies and external reporting requirements.
* Support in contract reviews and supplier cost governance to ensure appropriate risk allocation and financial transparency.
What You'll Bring
* 8+ Years in Multinational Organisations across Finance roles such as Finance BP, FP&A, Finance Controller and Logistics Finance is essential
* Deep technical knowledge of accrual accounting and standard costing.
* Strong hands-on experience building rolling forecasts, driver-based models (e.g. PVM) and variance analysis.
* Experience in Integrated Business Planning is essential
* Experience managing balance-sheet reconciliations and internal controls (SOX experience preferred).
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP/BI tools (e.g., SAP, JDE, BPCS, Power BI) preferred.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to present complex analysis clearly to senior international stakeholders.
* Strong leadership, project management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
* Willingness to liaise and work at operational level, and manage upwards at a more senior level
* Intrinsically driven with a 'can do' attitude.
