About the Role
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development are seeking a Manager Natural Resources to join their team.
The Manager Natural Resources leads and manages a research and development team focused on the interactions between agriculture and the environment. The research supports advice to government and industry through integrated assessments of agricultural practices in terms of their effects on productivity, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and environmental services including soils, water and biodiversity outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
* Building high-level partnerships across government, industry, universities and other stakeholders.
* Leading and delivering research, development and adoption projects that underpin sustainable resource management in agriculture.
* Developing integrated assessment methodologies that evaluate agricultural practices and their environmental impacts.
* Representing NSW DPIRD in state and national forums to promote sustainable agriculture.
* Providing sound technical and policy advice to senior leaders and stakeholders.
* Leading, motivating and developing a team of professional staff.
* Degree or post-graduate qualifications in climate, agriculture, environmental or science-based disciplines.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of evidence-based metrics for sustainable resource management and environmental stewardship, directly influencing policy and practice across NSW and nationally.
