We are a busy and well-established Emergency Centre looking for a dedicated nurse to join a friendly, experienced Emergency team in a state-of-the-art facility, providing high-quality emergency and critical care services to our community's beloved pets.
Responsibilities
* Permanent Part-time or Full-time role
* Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department
* Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments
* Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
* Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
* Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan
* Collaborate with other members of the veterinary team to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
Requirements
* Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
* Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
* Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Compassionate and empathetic towards both animals and their owners
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
