Full time, fixed term opportunity for 9 months Leverage SQL expertise to efficiently manage and extract research datasets Base Salary $99,455 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Data Collection Analyst is responsible for the collection of research and researcher information for the purposes of government required reporting programs, internal reporting, and information for performance analysis. The role involves capturing, verifying, and cleansing research data outputs, as well as grants data for internal and external use. The Data Collection Analyst analyses sometimes complex matters and manages relationships with faculty/school research administrators, researchers, library, and other colleagues, including responding to queries, providing guidance, and sourcing solutions. Your key responsibilities will be to: contribute to the University’s internal and external research reporting obligations, including researcher profiles, grants data and other research data requirements use automated data extraction and storage solutions to source data from external and internal sources develop and utilise alternative approaches to automated data extraction, including educating faculties on manual data entry for nontraditional research outputs extract, import, cleanse, match, prepare and maintain comprehensive datasets provide advice to stakeholders on research categorisation and record maintenance. About you previous experience in a position that requires collecting, processing, and maintaining data and reporting of data sets previous experience working with, and an understanding of, research outputs (desirable) experience in delivering actionable recommendations using analytics applications SQL (essential) and Python (desirable) experience storing research data appropriately in databases and/or statistical analysis programs, and extracting relevant reports and/or analysis knowledge of data manipulation techniques to ensure data consistency across a wide range of data sets extracted from various sources excellent attention to detail, particularly in relation to collecting, processing, and maintaining electronic records and datasets.
