Baker – Full Time
Location: Mackay
Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 per annum + superannuation
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Baker to join our growing bakery team in
Mackay, Queensland
Uncle Bing’s Bakery is a modern Asian-inspired bakery offering fresh artisan breads, pastries, cakes, and specialty baked goods made daily. Combining traditional flavours with creative modern baking, we aim to bring quality, freshness, and a warm community atmosphere to Mackay.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and baking a range of breads,
rolls, and other baked products while maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and
consistency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and bake bread loaves, rolls, and related baked products
Measure and combine ingredients according to recipes and production requirements
Mix, knead, shape, proof, and finish dough products using manual and machine-
assisted methods
Monitor baking processes, oven temperatures, and product appearance to ensure
consistent quality
Operate bakery equipment including mixers, dough moulders, and ovens
Prepare fillings, toppings, glazes, and decorative finishes for baked items where
required
Coordinate production activities including loading, baking, cooling, and unloading
batches of products
Inspect raw ingredients and finished goods to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bakery equipment, trays, tins, and work areas
Follow workplace health and safety and food handling procedures at all times
Assist with stock rotation and inventory control of baking ingredients and supplies
Skills and Experience
Relevant qualification such as Certificate III or higher
Minimum 2 years of relevant baking experience preferred
Strong knowledge of bread production techniques and commercial baking
equipment
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Good attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
