**The Opportunity**
Permanent opportunity responsible for the establishment, commissioning and ongoing operations of safe, efficient and reliable 24/7 Waste to Energy facilities and ensuring performance and maintenance metrics/standards are achieved or exceeded as per contractual obligations.
You will also develop and manage the overall costs and budget for the VANZ ERFs and ensure ongoing reporting to management and client. Additionally in this role you will ensure compliance obligations are met in the areas of safety, environmental, ethics and people.
**What you'll be responsible for**
- Operations management including directing and coordinating all aspects of the Energy Recovery O&M; in ANZ, liaising with Plant Managers and local and international technical teams. You will also manage all aspects of the operations performance and determine production strategies, outputs and costs as well as adhere to legal, compliance and environmental requirements
- Develop and maintain networks amongst local and global contract managers and other external stakeholders including customers, consultants, community groups and contractors
- Lead and develop a team ensuring appropriate direction, achievement of performance objectives, development opportunities and performance management. Ensure team alignment to Veolia values of responsibility, solidarity, respect, innovation and customer focus
- Business development including achieving contractual obligations, seeking new markets for recovered outputs from ERF processes and collaboration with other Veolia businesses
- Demonstrate and promote the "Always Safe Charter" and ensure the workplace is safe at all times, driving strategic safety and sustainability initiatives
**What you'll need to be successful**
- Extensive practical engineering experience with a minimum of 10 years in a senior engineering/management role gained in a continuous process industry
- Degree qualifications in engineering
- Ability to develop and influence across all stakeholder groups
- Good knowledge of Municipal Solid Waste (MSW)
- Commercial and Industrial incineration and power generation at a management level
- Experience in waste to energy/energy from waste within an energy recovery facility
- Good knowledge of steam generation including high temperature boiler operations
- Working knowledge of environmental permits and other relevant legislation
- Commercial experience including budget management
- Knowledge of current OH&S; issues and safe working systems
