Your role at St John of God Ballarat Hospital
You will be a responsible and effective team member assisting in the overall clinical management of the ICU, and provide comprehensive patient care and supervision of care given by junior staff (caregivers).
The Position
- In the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager, the ANUM assumes responsibilities for the utilisation of personnel and management of unit in collaboration with Coordinator.
- Assist and facilitates the effective communication of the Unit.
- Assist the Nursing Unit Manager in collection of audits, statistics, staff performance management and productivity analysis data.
- Monitors staff levels against budget/target levels related to number of bed days, occupancy and patient acuity. Adjusts staffing levels in consultation with the Unit Manager and/or Coordinator according to changes in levels.
- Assist the Nursing Unit Manager in identifying resource needs and developing budgets and operational plans.
- Discuss any concerns regarding patients and staff with Nursing Unit Manager/Coordinator.
- Provide leadership and direction to team in the absence of the Nursing Unit Manager and act as a role model and resource person.
- Provide direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
- Maintain and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective team work between staff, patient, relative, doctors and ancillary staff.
- Assistsand collaborates with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, have experience in critical care nursing, well developed analytical and problem solving skills ith demonstrated ability to develop and build effective nursing, medical and interdisciplinary relationships and teams

- Salary: $106,129 to $109,686 (pro rata for part time), plus 11% superannuation
