Overview
The Team: We are a multidisciplinary team providing Alcohol and Drug (AOD) treatment and support to clients and offer support to other services in treatment options and referral pathways. The MDT team consists of Allied Health, Nursing and Medical Officers and is part of the SMHS alcohol and drug statewide service. Located in Ulverstone on the central coast of the NW.
Role
Our services work closely with other services both within the public and private sectors to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. We provide a range of services including harm minimisation strategies, pharmacotherapy, consultation liaison services, inpatient and residential pathways and medical consultation.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment and case management services to clients (and their families/carers).
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for clients, families and friends.
- Provide pharmacotherapy treatment and harm minimisation advice as part of the MDT process, including travel to outreach centres and in inpatient facilities.
You will need
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including AOD assessment, the harm minimisation framework, interventions and prevention activities.
- Knowledge of, and the ability to undertake, comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
- Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (RN).
- Desirable: Completed or working towards postgraduate qualifications in AOD; current Driver’s Licence.
Appointment details
Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar vacancies for up to twelve months from publication.
Salary and benefits
Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023. Access to Grade 4 salary range ($99,455 – $105,995) subject to progression. Allowances may include Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Salary packaging is available with benefits such as living expenses up to $9,010 plus $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year and other eligible benefits.
