Overview
Parking Surveillance and Solutions Team Leader. Logan City Council is seeking a proactive and experienced leader to guide parking compliance and education efforts and enhance city safety and liveability. This is a permanent full-time chance within the City Safety and Liveability Branch. Salary from Stream A Level 5.1 ($90k) + superannuation. Location: Logan Central, QLD, 4114.
Position responsibilities include:
- Lead and mentor a team of investigators, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
- Administer authorised person powers under the Local Government Act 2009 and other relevant legislation.
- Oversee surveillance operations including Automated Number Plate Recognition systems, in-ground sensor detection, static cameras, and body-worn camera footage.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to proactively address road signage and infrastructure issues.
- Prepare and present evidence in court, acting as an expert witness when required.
- Drive education and awareness campaigns to promote lawful parking behaviours.
- Conduct asset inspections and manage maintenance schedules.
- Lead and deliver financially sustainable outcomes through strategic budgeting, cost control, and revenue optimisation that align with Council’s service delivery goals and community expectations.
- Prioritise services that enhance public safety and community value.
Key indicators for success
- Demonstrated leadership skills that support team growth and development. Experience in a compliance and enforcement environment is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in interpreting and applying State legislation and Local Laws and undertaking local law reform.
- Experience in the development and successful delivery of action plans and strategic roadmaps.
- High-level communication and conflict resolution skills in a compliance setting.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.
- A valid 'C' class driver’s licence and the ability to pass a functional capacity assessment.
- Ability to pass all pre-employment and background checks as required.
