 
        
        Television Antenna & Telecommunications Technician
It is essential that the applicant must have previous professional experience with a commercial employment history, either installing and servicing domestic TV antenna systems or installing and servicing existing domestic telephone & data cabling. It is not necessary to have skills in all areas to apply for this job.
Duties for Television Antenna Technician
 * Installation of TV Antennas & Cabling
 * Diagnose Faults & Repair Existing TV Antenna Systems
 * Installation of Additional TV Points
 * Installation of Mast Head & Distribution Amplifiers
 * Setup and Tune TVs, DVDs, PVRs, Set Top Boxes & Surround Sound Systems
Although not essential, previous experience with Home Entertainment System Installations would provide additional job prospects. Duties for this would include:
 * Wall Mounting Televisions
 * Concealing AV Cables in Wall Cavity
 * Installing Speaker Cabling
 * Hanging Speakers on Wall
 * Setup & Install Projectors
Duties for Telecommunications Technician include:
 * Install Internal Phone Cabling
 * Diagnose and Repair Faults with Existing Phone Cabling
 * Install Data Cabling for Domestic & Small Business Networks
 * MDF Jumpering
 * Connect & Setup NBN Modems / Routers
 * Install cabling to move NBN modem location
Please note: A current Open ACMA license with relevant endorsements is mandatory to carry out this type of work.
Small amounts of work can also be provided for those with Satellite TV Dish experience such as:
 * Install Extra Points for Satellite
Small amounts of work for security cameras, alarm systems & home automation could also be provided if the technician has experience & appropriate licensing.
Technician needs to provide the following:
 * Own vehicle (van, station wagon or large sedan) with roof racks
 * Step ladder
 * Extension ladder - 14 foot or 4.2m
 * Extension ladder - 26 foot or 7.9m
 * Tools
 * Fax machine or faxing facilities
Work to be carried out in the Melbourne metro area six days a week (Monday to Saturday). Part time and casual work available. Location of jobs will depend on where the technician lives.
