The Learning Trainer is responsible for the coordination, facilitation, and execution of training programs across all process paths within the Fulfillment Center. This role ensures consistent delivery of training, maintains quality standards in learning delivery, and provides clear guidance to Instructors and Associates during all shift phases. The Learning Trainer partners with Operations and the L&D team to drive training compliance, improve learning effectiveness, and support the onboarding experience for all new and tenured associates. Key job responsibilities Start of Shift Activities Attend Start of Shift (SOS) meetings and engage with Area Managers on training alignment for the day Perform equipment readiness checks including training room, safety school area, scanners, Kindles, and material setup Review daily schedule and align with Learning Specialist on necessary changes and impact to the weekly training plan Coordinate with the Instructor team on the day's training delivery plan Report equipment defects and issues to the Learning Specialist During Shift Activities Prepare and deliver all training sessions as planned for the shift Coordinate, supervise, and check in with Instructors throughout the shift to ensure training is delivered as planned Provide coaching and upskilling to Instructors and log all coaching activities Review training assessment outcomes and highlight any issues or risks to Area Managers Manage associate permissions following completion of training Deliver any training in the place of an Instructor when required Manage training tickets, review local SIM tickets, and plan requested training, coaching, and audits Maintain accurate records of all training and coaching activities using Umbrella, WorkDocs, and ticketing systems Review and report training activities and compliance metrics Check and correct training CALM codes to ensure proper labor tracking End of Shift Activities Check readiness and condition of training equipment and training room Ensure proper storage of all materials Report any issues for the next shift Send the next day's training plan to Area Managers Onboarding Deliver Behind the Smile (BTS) onboarding for new associates Organise and coordinate Day 1 and Day 2 process training Log all onboarding modules in Umbrella Organise Week 1 Graduation and Week 2 Touchpoint sessions Coach tenured associates and support PA and leader onboarding and training Weekly Activities Deliver process training and briefings Provide training updates to Instructors where applicable Review weekly training plan with Area Managers Monthly Activities Facilitate Instructor audits and coaching following local guidance Participate in Work in Process (WiP) for 6–8 hours to stay close to operational processes Ensure compliance with all Level 3 training requirements (e.g., Quriosity, Amazon Learn) Participate in monthly team round tables Attend 1:1 meetings with line manager Ad Hoc Activities Support Associates in navigating Umbrella Training modules Familiarise with network standards, regulations, and policies to ensure strict adherence during training Facilitate Train the Instructor events and update Instructors on network training curriculum Participate in L&D-owned safety promotion events Support L&D and PE projects for the site Support the Design team by reviewing content and translations Provide data to Managers on learning-related requests (e.g., Associates trained per process) During High Volume Events (HVE), understand daily targets and priorities from Area Managers Submit near miss reports in Austin when witnessing unsafe conditions - Strong communication and facilitation skills - Subject Matter Expert within the fulfilment environment - Demonstrated experience in developing training material, job aids, and online tutorials - Proficient in developing spreadsheets (Excel preferred), word processing, and email - Ability to carefully analyse data sets, identify issues, and recommend solutions - Team player with ability to work cross-functionally with Operations and L&D leadership - Previous experience in a training, coaching, or facilitation role within a warehouse or logistics environment - Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Amazon Learn, Umbrella, FCLM) - Experience with performance tracking dashboards (e.g., QuickSight, Formulate) - Understanding of CALM codes, labour tracking, and permission management - Demonstrated ability to coach and develop others Acknowledgement of country: In the spirit of reconciliation Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
