Research Academic in Space Situational Awareness
We are seeking a highly skilled Research Academic to join our engineering team for a research-only position in Space Situational Awareness. This exciting opportunity will involve working with esteemed colleagues Dr Eleanor Sansom and Professor Steven Tingay, contributing to our cutting-edge research in adapting astronomy technologies and passive radar techniques for SSA.
* This role will require the development of data processing algorithms based on radio astronomy techniques, as part of the SSA team, and assisting in implementing them in the operational setting of the Curtin/Nova array.
* You will also participate in research that seeks to combine radio SSA measurements with optical SSA measurements, exploring sensor/data fusion.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with existing team members to develop a productive program around the SSA array, including supervising HDR students and drawing from experience across CIRA's engineering and astrophysics programs.
