About the Role
As a Food Services Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution, and serving of meals for our residents, visitors, staff, and for functions. You will observe food safety, HACCP, quality, and hygiene standards as well as adhere to our policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
* Assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution, and serving of all types of meals.
* Maintaining accurate relevant catering records including the monitoring and recording of food temperatures.
* Reporting any feedback from residents on their satisfaction or otherwise for meals provided.
* Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person-centered food services and supports that are safe and effective.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Previous experience in a food handling role.
* Sound best practice food handling skills as appropriate to the role.
* Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy.
* The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand.
* Sound manual handling skills.
* Good time management in order to manage your own workload without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time.
* A basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviors.
