About the Role
As aCasual Locomotive Driver Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the protected and efficient operation of rail services. You’ll work closely with Train Crew, Operational Staff, Maintenance and Terminal teams, as well as Network Control, in a fast-paced and collaborative workplace. This role offers valuable hands-on experience, where you’ll assist in a variety of rail operational tasks while being supported by a dedicated team.
Your Training Journey
Initial paid classroom & practical training (38 hours per week).
Assist in various rail operational tasks, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Training school will be held in Rockhampton (Candidates are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and travel during the classroom and practical training).

Requirements
Ability to pass a CAT 1 Rail Medical and fitness assessment
Current full Class C or higher Driver’s Licence (no restrictions)
Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Valid National Police Clearance(with no court outcomes)
Basic computer skills
Strong literacy and numeracy skills to complete written assessments
