Operating at the intersection of analytics, risk, governance and controls, we turn complex control requirements into scalable, well-documented and repeatable analytical solutions that help business customers experience simpler, more reliable service. Your Impact & Contribution Within Business Banking, control measures operate across the customer and product lifecycle, including onboarding, lending, fulfilment, customer communications and remediation, alongside governance areas such as regulatory obligations, data quality, pricing, approvals, and reporting. Our team uses data and analytics to design, automate, monitor and uplift controls so the business can identify issues earlier, reduce manual reliance and improve customer outcomes. As a Senior Advanced Analytics Analyst, you’ll help deliver proactive risk management requirements. Using data, modelling, automation, visualisation and insights, you’ll detect emerging risks, reduce manual effort, improve control effectiveness and support the business to operate safely within risk appetite. To achieve this, you may expect to: Partner with business and risk stakeholders to understand control needs, process risks, data sources and what a true exception looks like Translate risk and control requirements into analytical logic, including rules, thresholds, exception criteria and predictive indicators Extract, join and analyse data from complex systems using SQL to identify risks, gaps, trends and control weaknesses Build and automate data-led controls that detect issues early, reduce manual effort and improve customer outcomes Validate control logic to ensure outputs are accurate, explainable and focused on genuine risk indicators, while minimising false positives Develop dashboards and reporting in Tableau, Power BI or similar tools to monitor risks, exceptions, trends and control performance Turn analytical findings into clear insights and recommendations for stakeholders and senior leaders Clearly document controls, including data inputs, assumptions, limitations, frequency, ownership, escalation pathways and handover requirements Lead control builds, defect fixes and process improvements with Risk, Product, Technology, Audit and business teams to ensure controls remain effective over time Stay current with emerging trends in analytics, AI, machine learning and big data, identifying opportunities to improve how we work Your Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will bring demonstrable experience working in risk, controls, governance or regulatory environments, with an understanding of how data-led controls can be designed, monitored and uplifted to reduce risk and improve customer outcomes. You’ll bring strong SQL capability and experience working with complex datasets, alongside Python for data wrangling or automation and R or similar tools for analytics and modelling. You’ll be confident building dashboards in Tableau, Power BI or similar tools, and ideally have exposure to GitHub for version control or deployment. Experience in risk, controls, governance or regulatory environments will be highly regarded, particularly where you have used data to design, monitor or uplift controls. Just as importantly, you’ll bring strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to turn analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
